SATURDAY AT THE RATTLER: Pole Day & 15th Annual Grasshopper Pro Late Rattler 125
OPP, Alabama (May 23, 2020) — Race weekend for the 44th Annual Hardee’s Rattler 250 is in full swing as Saturday features a jam-packed day of practice, qualifying and racing at South Alabama Speedway.
The day begins with Pro Late Model and Super Late Model practice, followed by Pre-Quaflying Technical Inspection for both classes.
The Grandstands open at 2:00 PM CST with Super Late Model Pole Qualifying for the Rattler 250 beginning at 3:30 PM CST, followed by Pro Late Model Qualifying for the Baby Rattler 125.
In both classes, the top 24 cars in time trials will lock into their respective fields. After local division practice sessions, the schedule calls for last chance races for both Pro Late Models and Super Late Models, though with the number of entries in each class, it is unlikely that they will be needed.
Racing begins with the resumption of the Super Stock Feature that began on Friday night, but was postponed due to rain after 16 laps were completed. After the Super Stocks, the night continues with a 20 lap Mini-Cup feature, followed by the 15th Annual Grasshopper Pro Late Rattler 125 presented by Jr’s Lawn Mower Shop.
Following the Baby Rattler 125, the ground pounding Modifieds will contest a 50 lap feature, followed by a Roadrunner 35 lap affair to close out the night.
