53rd Snowball Derby Schedule
PENSACOLA, Florida (November 29, 2020) — It’s here! It’s race week for the 53rd Annual Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida.
Over the course of the upcoming week, many of the nation’s best short track racers will descend on the the half-mile high-banked oval centered on the Gulf Coast to contest feature races in seven different divisions, all leading up to the grand finale, the 300 lap Snowball Derby, the most prestigious Super Late Model event in the country.
Here is the schedule for Derby Week, 2020 (All times in Central):
Monday, November 30, 2020 – Derby Week Begins!
The highlight of Monday is Five Flags Speedway’s very own podcast, In the Groove, hosted by track promoter Tim Bryant and Steve Stokes with special guests including Speed51’s Bob Dillner and a bevy of drivers. The show is broadcast via Facebook Live on the speedway’s official Facebook Page.

Tuesday, December 1, 2020 – Snowball Derby Kickoff Show
The traditional Snowball Derby Kickoff Show is set to once again be broadcasted live from Beef ‘O’ Brady’s mere minutes away from the Speedway on Speed51.TV. Check out this Speed51.com story for more information on what to expect.

Wednesday, December 2, 2020 – Tech Day
Beginning with yet another tradition at the Derby, the official technical inspection day starts off with hauler parking as the empty infield jumps to life with the hustle and bustle of teams unloading their cars and heading to the tech line. Initial inspections for the Super and Pro Late Models take up the majority of the day, with the annual Green Flag Party ending the evening on the frontstretch with music, food and the Snowball Derby & Snowflake 100 Qualifying draw.

Thursday, December 3, 2020 – Practice Day
The track finally goes hot on Thursday as a full day of practice rounds for the Snowball Derby and Snowflake 100 pack the schedule, with races featuring the Pro Trucks, Sportsmen, and Pure Stocks fill the night.

Practice once again fills the early portions of the day, but by the evening all eyes turn to the Super Late Models with Snowball Derby Pole Qualifying taking center stage. Afterward, the Modifieds of Mayhem close out the night with their season finale.

Saturday, December 5, 2020 – Snowflake 100
Perhaps some of the most intense racing of the week happens on Saturday. After the final practice sessions, and Pro Late Model Qualifying, Last Chance Races will set the final grids for both Saturday’s Snowflake 100 and Sunday’s Snowball Derby. Closing out the night is a 50 lap feature for the Outlaw Stock division.

Sunday, December 6, 2020 – 53rd Annual Snowball Derby
The day begins early with the removal of the haulers from the infield, and a gamett of pre-race festivities leading up to the green flag for the 53rd Annual Snowball Derby. Following the 300 lap affair, attention shifts to the technical inspection crew lead by Ricky Brooks in the “Room of Doom”.
